Biography of Martyn Ford

An accident happened to him during one of his workouts. After the accident, Martyn developed a severe case of glandular fever (infectious mononucleosis), which kept him out of action for about a year—a time that was critical for his professional advancement. Martyn had to give up on his aspirations of becoming a professional cricket player as a result and look for another foundation upon which to base his career.

This is when he made the decision to "join the world" of fitness and bodybuilding, seeing it as the perfect outlet for the frustrations he had been harbouring for the months that he had been unable to play cricket. He soon became "captivated" by his advancement in lifting "the iron," and his irritation was quickly replaced by a passion for the practice.

He felt "fascinated" by his progress in the gym, and his irritation soon gave way to a passion for lifting "the iron."

Martyn hasn't looked back since; as a result of years of dedication both inside and outside the gym, he's established himself as a well-known fitness model, actor, and online phenomenon.

“Think about what you don’t want to become. Negative reinforcement is a great tool to kick start the body into action! The fear of being a failure is almost like the ‘fight or flight’ that will either crush or push you!”

Early Life

“People love to see successful people and be around successful.” – Martyn Ford

Martyn Ford was born in the English county of Staffordshire to Lorraine and Stephen Ford. As a youth, he was quite active and participated in sports such as cricket, in which he excelled and aspired to become a career. Unfortunately, Martyn sustained injuries that caused him to lose interest and passion for the sport, and it might be difficult to compete at a high level after such an event.

Martyn Ford Before / After

To make matters worse, he contracted glandular fever and infectious mononucleosis, and he was unable to engage in intensive sports for a year, putting a damper on his athletic advancement.

As a result, his life took a different turn, leading him to concentrate on improving his physique. And, like many others, he discovered a new love in bodybuilding, where he began to attract a lot of attention due to his imposing stature and overall threatening demeanor.

Personal life

Eddie Hall served as Martyn Ford's best man when he married Sacha Stacey in 2019. They have two daughters.

The Nightmare was close friends with the late Rich Piana and attended his wedding. After Piana's passing in 2018, The Nightmare also assumed the role as the brand's new face, 5% Nutrition.

Training

Ford believes in employing a variety of strategies to get the desired goals. He also alters his training based on his objectives or job chances.

Martyn's "go-to" exercise might range from walking and running to cycling on a bike. He does, however, prefer to increase the intensity by adding a few of HIIT sessions every month. He also trains in MMA twice a week to stay in shape.

Martyn will vary his workout plan every four or five weeks in order to "shock" his body. He believes that this is the greatest method to prevent plateaus in strength and size gain.

However, he rarely changes the reps and methodology of his workouts; instead, he simply changes the types of exercises he undertakes. For example, one week he might only do pressing movements for his chest, while the next he might do a combination of chest flys and presses.

“Moving big weights is really important, but from past experience, it’s only important to move the weights that your body is capable of.”

Workout Routine

“Growing muscle and forced reps! If you want to grow big muscles, you got to move big weights, simple! But don’t mistake moving big weights with doing so at all costs. You still need to be able to move the weight with good form. Going heavy and breaking your back in the process isn’t very beneficial at all.”

Martyn's workouts have rules like resting for 60 seconds between sets and two minutes between exercises. In order to get the most out of his workouts, he also incorporates forced reps, drop sets, and slow negative reps.

Nutrition

Martyn Ford must consume more calories than the normal person in order to maintain his stature. He's also stated that he consumes up to 8,000 calories every day, though we're not sure how many calories he requires right now to maintain his monstrous frame.

“I have really started to pay greater attention to my nutrition. I now weigh and monitor my food intake much more closely.”

Ford consumes carbohydrates and protein 6-7 times every day.

He eats eggs, chicken, turkey, fish, and steak for protein, and rice, sweet potatoes, and oats for carbs.

Pre, intra, and post-workout supplements are also part of his nutritional regimen, especially since he is very active whether he is training for muscle mass or MMA.

Disease

Martyn Ford, the new CEO of the Rich Piana-founded 5% Nutrition supplements company, has some fairly big shoes to fill. He was actively marketing 5% Nutrition when he developed a serious gastrointestinal condition a few months ago, necessitating surgery.

Martyn Ford's stomach condition surgery was successful, but he lost a significant amount of muscle, leaving him in terrible shape. Ford, who had some filming obligations prior to the health scare, has had a difficult few weeks.

The bodybuilder and actor appears to be regaining his monstrous shape, though, based on his most recent Instagram update. He wrote:

“First picture (321lb) was taken today and second one 7 weeks ago (263lb). After having 12 inches of small intestine removed and part of my bowel.”

Martyn Ford was finally able to return to his native Britain where he could get the medical attention he required to lessen the severity of any potential serious illnesses. His most recent Instagram post clearly demonstrates the difficulties he has been having and what his condition's potential future may entail.

“I don’t think I’m doing to bad….. yes I was shattered and devastated when I fell ill, losing so much weight was crushing, and looking back I suffered some depression, but only way is up when you hit rock bottom, I’m still a few steps away from where I was, but a hell of a way in front where I started 7 wks back. No matter what life throws at you, take it one step, one breathe, one day at a time. Small little goals will eventually add up to huge milestones.

Success doesn’t happen overnight, but a drive to succeed day, after day, after day. Until eventually you start to get somewhere. Focus on your dreams and never stop believing”

Controversy

Martyn Ford has refuted Iranian Hulk's claim that he used performance-enhancing drugs before their disastrous battle.

Ford was scheduled to make his boxing debut against the Iranian Hulk, real name Sajad Gharibi, but the match was abruptly cancelled. Later, Gharibi retaliated against Ford, claiming that he was to fault for the altercation and pleading for the assignment of a new foe.

Following his initial criticism of Ford, Gharibi later claimed that Ford had been given permission to use steroids in their boxing match. He said:

"In accordance with his DNA type, he is also given steroids. Boxers are not permitted to use steroids, but Martyn Ford is so prized that they allowed him to. He takes nearly 8ml of steroids every day."

Movie Artist

Martyn Ford has achieved enormous success in the film industry thanks to his distinctive size and appearance. In 2016, he received the role of” Koshmar The Nightmare” in the movie “Undisputed IV- Boyka.”

Ford revealed in 2020 that he had been cast in the Fast & Furious 9 film. Prior to being delayed twice—once because of other movies and secondly because of the global health crisis—the movie was supposed to be out in 2019.

The new date for the theatrical release is May 28, 2021.

Ford has also made appearances in other movies like Accident Man, Robin Hood, The Rebellion, Redcon-1, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Martyn Ford In MMA

Martyn Ford developed a later-life interest in MMA (mixed martial arts), but given how well-known he has grown, it is not surprising that KSW signed him in 2018.

Endnote

Martyn had a bright future in cricket when he was younger - he was living his dream. However, owing to unforeseen events, this desire proved "impossible."

As a result, he had to look for other methods to pass his time. Some people in Martyn's situation would have given up and lost their sense of direction in life. Martyn, on the other hand, did not give up in the face of hardship; rather, he emerged stronger and gained something from it.

“I can do my own stunts I can act to a level.” –Martyn Ford

He redirected all of his bad energy into fitness, inadvertently crafting a successful future for himself. Martyn now lives a new story, one that he had not planned. But he's pleased with his growth and says he "couldn't ask for anything more."

Remember Martyn's story the next time you confront a difficult situation in your life. Because that challenge may simply be another path to greatness in the future.
