Alopecia (hair loss) is a pretty common occurrence. While it is more common in older persons, it can affect anyone, even youngsters.
Male pattern baldness is caused mostly by hormonal changes. Increased levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in particular will harm hair follicles. Many steroids cause DHT levels in the body to rise, resulting in substantial hair loss. However, not everyone is prone to baldness.
HAIR LOSS SYMPTOMS-

  • Widening part
  • Receding hairline
  • Loose hair
  • Bald Patches
  • Clogged drains
  • Pain or itching

TREATMENT-
There are effective treatments for some types of hair loss. You might be able to stop or at least halt hair loss. Hair may recover without therapy in some circumstances, such as patchy hair loss (alopecia areata). Medications and surgery are two options for treating hair loss.

MEDICATION-
Medications are available to treat hair loss/baldness. The most common options include-

  • Minoxidil (Rogaine)- This topical (skin-applied) solution appears to induce modest hair regeneration in parts of the scalp that have gone bald under some conditions. Rogaine stimulates new hair growth by reversing the decreasing process of hair follicles.
  • Finasteride (Propecia) - Propecia is a medicine that is now being used to treat male pattern baldness. Propecia prevents hair loss by blocking the more active male hormone in the epidermis. Propecia is a prescription-only medication that is used once a day to three times a week in pill form.
  • Spironolactone - This is a tablet that is used once or twice a day to prevent hair loss by blocking male hormones in the skin. This can be used to treat female pattern hair loss.
  • Diphencyprone - This is a topical sensitizer that is sometimes used to encourage hair regeneration in people with alopecia areata
